Smartphone cameras will help improve one of these companies..
Today, Chang Cheng, who recently became Xiaomi’s new vice president, conducted a survey on his page on the Weibo social network. In it, he asked users with which company Xiaomi should cooperate in developing the cameras of their smartphones.
Four options were offered, including Canon, Nikon and Hasselblad. You could also vote against everyone. At the time of publication of the note, Hasselblad scored nearly 2,000 votes, while Canon had half as much, and only 269 people voted for Nikon. 1000 users believe that none of these companies is suitable.
In today’s world, the camera is one of the most important elements of smartphones, so device manufacturers are working with sensor suppliers to get optimized sensors for their devices. Nokia is partnering with Ziess, and Huawei has a partner with Leica. Xiaomi recently entered into a partnership agreement with Samsung regarding the use of an image sensor with a resolution of 108 megapixels.
It is worth noting that this survey does not guarantee that Xiaomi will definitely order sensors from any of these companies. So far, the company is only evaluating user reactions.
Previously, Chang Cheng headed the mobile division at Lenovo, where he worked for about 19 years.
