The team of the popular WhatsApp messenger, currently owned by Facebook, is working on a new feature that is highly sought after by competing products.
Soon, WhatsApp users will be able to send self-destructing messages. Such a function is, for example, in Telegram, and Snapchat was originally famous for it.
This type of message was discovered by the thematic resource WABetainfo. In the recent WhatsApp beta version 2.19.348 for Android smartphones, it is renamed from Disappearing Messages to Delete Messages. The function is already available for individual chat and group chats, and is also compatible with a dark theme.
The user is prompted to select in the chat settings how long messages will be visible before disappearing. You can choose the option to save forever, delete after an hour, every other day, week, month and year.
In the stable version of WhatsApp, you can delete sent messages, but you can only do this manually.
