UNISOC Introduces World’s First 6nm 5G Processor

Chinese chip maker UNISOC introduced a new platform for smartphones Tiger T7520, manufactured by the 6-nanometer process technology. The company talked about the characteristics of the new product, noting that the chip is designed to work in fifth-generation networks.

The Tiger T7520 processor has eight cores: four Cortex-A76 and four Cortex-A55, while the manufacturer does not name their frequency. The graphics chip is Mali-G57. According to the developer, the transition from the 7-nanometer process will increase the density of transistors by 18%, which reduced energy consumption by 8%.

The built-in 5G modem supports two standards for 5G networks (NSA / SA), and is also compatible with 2G, 3G and 4G networks. The maximum download speed when using SA-type networks is 3.25 Gb / s. Simultaneous operation of two 5G SIM cards is provided.

The Tiger T7520 features a new generation of neural coprocessor for more efficient processing of tasks related to the use of artificial intelligence. According to UNISOC representatives, it is 50% faster than its predecessor. Finally, the chip supports displays with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 4K resolution and HDR10 +, as well as cameras with a maximum resolution of up to 100 megapixels.
