Twitter creator allocates $ 1 billion to fight COVID-19

Twitter creator and CEO Jack Dorsey said he would set aside $ 1 billion from his Square stake in Start Small to fund efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. When the pandemic is over, funds will go to charity projects, including universal basic income.

Square, also established by Dorsey and working in the field of mobile payments, was chosen because Dorsey owns a larger share in it than on Twitter. By the way, this amount is approximately 28% of the state of Dorsey.

Dorsey had previously been involved in charity work, but kept the details of this activity secret. Donations to the Start Small Fund and the spending from it will now be visible to the public.
