Three Russian drugs can help treat coronavirus. Three vaccines are being developed in Russia

Vice President Academician Vladimir Chekhonin, Head of the Section of Biomedical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that Russia has created three drugs that could potentially be used in the treatment of coronavirus COVID-19. He also confirmed that three vaccines are being developed in Russia.

The drug triazavirin began to be developed several years ago. In inhaled form, it can be used to treat a respiratory viral infection. Vladimir Chekhonin expressed confidence that this drug may be suitable for the treatment of infection.

The second drug is obtained after the synthesis of the antiviral drug favipiravir, which was previously created in Japan to treat infections. Fortepren, another drug created on the basis of the drug phosprenyl, which is used to treat coronavirus in animals.

As for vaccines, one is being developed by the Vector Center in the Novosibirsk Region. On the basis of the Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University Lomonosov is developing a prototype of a multivalent vaccine. At the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry. Shemyakin and Ovchinnikov created “a modern high-tech vaccine against COVID-19 based on virus-like particles using the so-called recombinant fragments of coronavirus proteins.”

Earlier, the Federal Biomedical Agency (FMBA) announced the creation of an artificial lung ventilation apparatus for treating two to four people at a time.
