A few days ago it became known that AMD is preparing the long-awaited Ryzen 3 3000 processors – inexpensive CPUs based on the current Zen 2 architecture. According to the first data, the Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X will be quad-core with SMT support, while the first will run at frequencies up to 3.9 GHz, and the second up to 4.3 GHz.
In the original news, we suggested that processors would cost about $ 100-150. Now, a well-known insider confirms our assumptions, saying that the Ryzen 3 3100 will cost $ 104, and the Ryzen 3 3300X will cost $ 120, which is a great offer.
For comparison, even the Core i3-9100 without Hyper-Threading support is officially priced at $ 122, that is, it will compete with the Ryzen 3 3300X, which will obviously be faster. And for Ryzen 3 3100 as competitors, Intel has prepared only models of the Pentium family.
True, the Comet Lake-S line is on the nose, in the framework of which, for example, all Core models must support Hyper-Threading, but we still do not know the prices, and this generation will require a new processor socket, so it’s not so simple.
