BMW is just getting ready to introduce the updated M5 F90 sports sedan; rumors of a new generation M5 – the G60 – have already appeared on the web. It is reported that a truly sports “five” in 2023 will be … electric! Partly or in full.
Partially, of course, means a hybrid. And we are talking about a rechargeable hybrid – PHEV. While the top version will be fully electric with three electric motors with a capacity of 250 kW each. Two electric motors will be located on the front axle, one on the rear axle. In total, the power will be 750 kW or 1006 hp. – this is a symbolic 5 hp more than the Bugatti Veyron with its eight-liter W16 engine with four turbines.
M5 of model year 2024 is attributed to a traction battery with a capacity of 135 kWh with support for charging with a voltage of 400 V (support for fast charging with a voltage of 800 V is not excluded). The car will be built on the BMW CLAR-WE electric platform. The official premiere of the BMW M5 G60 is expected in the second half of 2023.
