The converged systems market grew by only 3.5% over the year

In monetary terms, in the third quarter of 2019, it amounted to $ 3.75 billion.
Last quarter, convergent systems sold $ 3.75 billion. This figure corresponds to an annualized growth of 3.5%. Such data are contained in a report prepared by the specialists of the analytical company IDC.

By convergent systems they mean systems pre-integrated and certified by the supplier, including server hardware, storage subsystem, network equipment, and basic system software. Being a ready-made, tested solution that supports virtualization and optimized for various tasks, such a system is easily integrated into the existing infrastructure due to a software-defined approach to determining functionality.

The market consists of three segments: the first – certified reference systems and integrated infrastructure, the second – integrated platforms, the third – hyperconverged systems. The distribution between the segments is shown in the diagram:

As for suppliers, the largest is Dell Technologies. This company occupies 35.1% of the market. A year ago, it owned 29.3% of the market. In second place is Nutanix, whose share over the year decreased from 16.6% to 13.0%. This is followed by Cisco, HPE and Lenovo with 5.4%, 4.6% and 4.5% respectively. A year ago they owned 4.6%, 4.7% and 3.5% of the market. The total share of all other suppliers for the year decreased from 41.4% to 37.4%.
