This week, the Cadillac Escalade 2021 model year SUV was introduced. According to the source, this is the first production car in which a curved OLED display is installed.
Display P-OLED (Organic LED Display on a Plastic Substrate) manufactured by LG Display is a central element of a completely new dashboard design. More specifically, the Digital Cockpit Solution (DCS) cluster is formed by three curved P-OLED panels integrated into a 38-inch display. The diagonal of the largest is 16.9 inches. Screens are used to display information typically found on the dashboard, as well as display infotainment and navigation systems.
The system includes features such as augmented reality navigation and night vision. They are implemented in software developed by LG. The software complies with the requirements of ASIL and the international standard ISO for the functional safety of road vehicles.
