Tesla will begin shipping Model 3 cars assembled at a factory in Shanghai on Monday, December 30th. This was reported to Reuters by a company representative.
He added that the first 15 customers who receive cars on December 30 are Tesla employees.
Construction of the first Tesla plant outside the US began in January, and production began in October. To calculate more precisely, the plant will begin to deliver cars to customers 357 days after the start of construction, which is a kind of record for foreign automakers who opened production in China.
The Shanghai plant is part of Tesla’s plans to strengthen its presence in the world’s largest automobile market and minimize the effects of a trade war between the United States and China.
In a year, the enterprise will have to produce 250,000 cars a year.
