The autopilot system in Tesla cars is by far the best among mass-produced consumer cars, and soon it should become even better.
Elon Musk wrote that within two to four months Tesla should release a major update for the autopilot function, in which the system went through the process of “fundamental correspondence”.
There are no particular details, but from the available statements it is clear that we are talking about a global redesign of the system. At the same time, it is still unclear whether the update will be available to all Tesla cars available on the market or whether there will be restrictions on hardware. As you know, although Tesla cars do not go through the restyling and facelift stages that are familiar to the automotive industry, the Model S itself has changed technically over the last ten years on the assembly line, and this also includes the computing units responsible for the autopilot function.
