Single Chip Apple A14 Bionic 5G Launches This Month

According to the source, TSMC will begin production of single chip systems Apple A14 Bionic 5G before the end of this month. The new SoC is designed for smartphones in the iPhone 12 series.

Apple has not confirmed the intention to release a 5G-enabled iPhone this year, but it never reports on products not yet released.

According to unofficial information, in the A14 single-chip system, designed for production by the 5-nanometer process technology, there are up to 15 billion transistors. For comparison: the A13 has approximately 8.5 billion transistors. The single-chip system will be supplemented by the Snapdragon X60 5G modem. Allegedly, this modem will be in all smartphones of the iPhone 12 series.

The source recalls that the release information for A14 appeared a long time ago. Initially, the release of SoC was expected to begin in April, but the coronavirus pandemic forced a change in timing.
