Shows the first external drive for Sony PlayStation 5

Patriot Gaming introduced a gaming SSD.
Patriot Memory has announced under the Viper Gaming brand an external PXD PCIe M.2 solid-state drive for the PAX East 2020 gaming exhibition.

According to experts, this is the first public drive for the next generation Sony PlayStation 5 game console.

PAX East 2020 will be held from February 27 to March 1 in Boston. During the exhibition, Patriot will allow gamers to test the drive with the PlayStation 4 console and the Marvel Spider-Man video game. The same game was previously used by Sony to demonstrate the high-speed loading of the PlayStation 5. A new demonstration at the exhibition should once again spark public interest in the already hotly anticipated PlayStation 5.

Patriot PXD M.2 PCIe received USB 3.2 Type-C interface. It will be available in versions from 512 GB to 2 TB. The drive uses the Phison E13T controller, which provides read and write speeds of up to 1 GB / s.

The PlayStation 4 will not be able to realize all the features of PXD due to limitations of the USB 3.1 1 Type-A interface. With it, the drive will be able to give out about 62% of its maximum speed. The PlayStation 5 is not expected to have such restrictions.
