This morning, many Samsung smartphone owners received strange notifications from Find My Mobile. It is used to find the location of the device, and also offers the ability to remotely lock your smartphone or destroy your data. This is done in case of loss or theft of the phone.
Accordingly, incomprehensible messages from this service seemed to users not only strange, but also potentially dangerous, since any malfunction of Find My Mobile could in theory lead to blocking or deletion of information.
If you also received strange notifications, do not be alarmed. Samsung explained that this was an unintended result of internal testing of the service and will not affect user devices in any way.
Samsung added that a limited number of users have received alerts, but various data indicate that in fact, a lot of users received it.
