Thanks, Samsung. Now, low-cost smartphones will have 12 GB of RAM

Samsung has announced the start of mass production of the industry’s first 12-gigabyte multi-chip LPDDR4X memory package. The company calls these solutions uMCP.

If it is simpler, then we are talking about 12 GB LPDDR4X RAM chips, which are also intended for mobile devices. Moreover, Samsung notes that using 24-gigabit chips, the company will be able to offer 12-gigabyte RAM chips for mid-range smartphones. Now in this segment the ball is corrected with a chip volume of 8 GB.

Samsung also focuses on a data transfer speed of 4266 Mbps, which will allow the device to support smooth video recording in 4K, use the functions of AI and machine learning, even in mid-budget smartphones.
