A few days ago, we talked about the fact that October 24, Intel should introduce a new processor architecture Tremont, which will become the basis of new “atomic” processors.
It was previously believed that the new generation of such processors will be called Jasper Lake, but all the latest data indicate that the name will be different – Gemini Lake Refresh. And this is very interesting, since usually Refresh is just a minor update, and here we get really new CPUs. At least, according to the available data.
If you compare the new products with the current Gemini Lake models, you can see higher frequencies from the former. For example, the Pentium J5040 operates at frequencies of 2.0-3.2 GHz, and the current J5005 – at frequencies of 1.5-2.8 GHz. At the same time, the manufacturing process will not change – it will be the same 14 nm.
