OmniVision Technologies has announced the release of the OC0SA camera module, which has expanded its family of CameraCubeChip modules for medical devices. The new module provides the best in its category resolution of 800 x 800 pixels with the highest frame rate of 60 fps. Support for binning allows you to increase the frequency to 90 fps at a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels, allowing you to receive static images and video without blurring. This also increases sensitivity.
The dimensions of the OC0SA are 2.6 x 1.6 mm. An infrared filter is built into the module, which allows to improve color reproduction, which can be crucial for the accurate detection of disorders in the body. The module is offered in versions with a field of view angle of 90 ° and 120 °. It is intended for single use endoscopes.
According to the manufacturer, OC0SA is the only module in its class that provides sterilization options for ETO and STERRAD. It is waterproofed and biocompatible. The advantages also include low power consumption – only 82.2 mW, which reduces the heating of the distal end of the endoscope and patient discomfort. From a technological point of view, it is convenient that the CameraCubeChip modules are designed for mounting on a printed circuit board simultaneously with other components.
OC0SA trial samples and development kits are currently available.
