Now officially: Ryzen’s latest 7nm mobile CPUs will appear in early 2020.

AMD CEO Lisa Su, in an interview with Venturebeat, confirmed that next-generation Ryzen mobile processors will be released at the very beginning of 2020. These will be the seven-meter processors belonging to the Ryzen 4000 line.

Here you can get confused, so let’s clarify. The current generation of Ryzen 3000 desktop CPUs is a seven-meter solution based on the Zen 2 architecture. But the Ryzen mobiles are “behind” the generation, so the Ryzen 3000 mobile line is 12-nanometer CPUs based on the Zen + architecture. Therefore, at the beginning of 2020, AMD mobile processors simply stand on a par with desktop ones, although they will be older in name.

The head of AMD also confirmed that the Zen 3 architecture will also appear next year. According to previous rumors and leaks, next-generation desktop CPUs will come out sometime in the middle of the year.
