BMW has announced that it will soon support Android Auto in its cars. To date, the German automaker has only offered integration with Apple smartphones.
Support for Android smartphones will appear in all cars with the BMW 7.0 operating system, and this will happen in 20 countries in July 2020. Since only wireless connection will be used, the list of compatible smartphones is limited to Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 +, S9, S9 +, S10, S10 +, Note 8, Note 9 and Note 10.
The connection will provide access to compatible applications and services, including Google Assistant. Information will be displayed not only on the center console, but also on the dashboard screen (of course, in those cars where it is).
Visitors to CES 2-2020 will be the first to see a BMW car with Android Auto support.
