MIUI 11 will add new camera features to Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones

Xiaomi first introduced the MIUI 11 branded shell in September in China. Now it has already received a large number of smartphones Xiaomi and Redmi, not only in China, but also in the international market. Nevertheless, the company is not going to stop there.

Developers from the XDA Developers community have noticed that the latest early test builds of MIUI 11 contain indications of new camera app features.

One of the innovations is Video Tagging. The function will allow you to insert into the video something like bookmarks right during recording. Subsequently, when playing a video in the MIUI Gallery application, you can go directly to these marks.

Also, the function of a document scanner and ID cards will be added to the camera. The new “document mode” will allow you to save images in black and white and even make them more readable. ID Copy Mode includes support for shooting from two sides and creating a copy in A4 format with both images side by side for easier printing.

In addition, the camera will begin to support the HEIC image format (aka HEIF), which has better compression than PNG and JPEG without loss of quality.
