Apple CEO Tim Cook published a video message in which he talked about how the company is trying to help the world against the backdrop of the ongoing pandemic of the coronavirus.
The Apple leader said the company has already prepared more than 20 million medical masks that it will send to healthcare professionals around the world. Apple works with governments in various countries to deliver to the poorest regions.
Cook added that Apple’s design, operations, and packaging teams are working with suppliers to design, manufacture, and supply face guards for healthcare providers. Apple plans to ship one million shields by the end of this week, and then ship one million units of this product every week. Protective shields will initially be shipped to healthcare facilities in the United States, but later Apple plans to expand distribution worldwide.
