Or how to get Microsoft to share Windows 7 with the world.
The Free Software Foundation continued its campaign to convince Microsoft to give Windows 7 a second life.
This time, the FSF team sent the company an empty hard drive based on which Microsoft should copy the Windows 7 source code and send it back to the organization.
The message of the Fund explains:
“Microsoft may free Windows. They already have all the necessary legal rights for this, or leverage for obtaining such rights. Whatever they decide, it depends only on them. ”
Microsoft discontinued official support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. However, users were not ready to say goodbye to their favorite platform. The foundation supported the public and in January published a petition demanding the release of Windows 7 as free software.
