JEDEC updates LPDDR5 standard

LPDDR5 memory has reduced power consumption.
The JEDEC industry organization developing standards for the microelectronic industry has announced the publication of an updated specification, JESD209-5A, which describes LPDDR5 memory (Low Power Double Data Rate 5).

LPDDR5 memory will operate at a speed of 6400 MT / s, which is 50% higher than the first version of LPDDR4. It will significantly increase the speed and efficiency of the memory subsystems of mobile devices and ultra-thin laptops. The current LPDDR5 standard update aims to improve performance, power consumption and flexibility. In addition, the update includes additional synchronization options and minor editorial changes to the text.

The document is already available for download from the JEDEC website.
