Japan approved bill to help local developers of 5G and drones

To become law, it must go through parliament.
The Japanese cabinet today approved a bill to support companies in developing 5G secure mobile networks and unmanned aerial vehicle technologies. This step has been taken amid growing concerns about the proliferation of Chinese 5G technology.

The bill provides for companies developing the aforementioned technologies to have access to government loans at very low interest rates. Companies that implement 5G technology can also count on support – in the form of tax benefits. In both cases, the development must meet the requirements established by the government.

If adopted, which requires a vote in parliament, the law will take effect this summer.
