Jaguar showed the concept of an autonomous city car of the future

The idea of an autonomous taxi is not new, and many eminent manufacturers have already joined the “drone race”. Jaguar Land Rover was no exception – the company finally unveiled an unusual conceptual model of a universal urban electric car called Project Vector.

A key feature of the car will be a universal platform that allows you to quickly establish the production of various vehicles based on the basic design. Jaguar claims that customers will be able to independently configure their car when ordering – for example, it can be a family bus or commercial vehicles.

“This is a conceptual platform developed and designed on the basis of urban scenarios for use by a major automaker in the form of a blank canvas for the development of specialized services and applications in the ecosystem of a smart city,” company representatives say.

The pilot project starts in Coventry, England, in 2021. Technical information and other details about the new product will be announced by the manufacturer later.
