Apple adds CarKey feature to new iOS 13.4.
Apple has released the first beta version of its mobile platform iOS 13.4. Enthusiasts studied it and found a very useful new feature called CarKey.
CarKey will allow you to use iPhone smartphones and Apple Watch as car keys. Using mobile devices, Apple will be able to open, close and start the car. For this, the car will need to support NFC. Authentication using Face ID is not required, the initial pairing will be done through the Wallet application.
This “key” can be shared with other users, for example, family members. New drivers can be invited through the Wallet app and they can use their iPhone or Apple Watch to access the car.
The company is already collaborating with automakers on the implementation of the CarKey function in iOS 13.4
