10-nanometer Intel Ice Lake processors are already available in serial laptops, but so far there are very few tests of such CPUs. The source tested the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 7390 with a Core i7-1065G7 processor, focusing on GPU performance.
Recall that the G7 is the top graphics core of the Ice Lake processors, and something more productive is expected only next year.
So, they opposed the new Core i7-8565U with regular UHD 620 graphics and Ryzen 7 3700U with Vega 10 GPU.
As you can see, the location of the players depends on the game. In this case, in one Core i7-1065G7 it was significantly faster than the Ryzen 7 3700U, in the other it was the other way around, and in the third we have parity. As for the difference between the new Intel GPU and the UHD 620, it is huge.
Conclusions are still difficult to draw. More extensive tests are needed to understand which of the situations in this case is more common. But in general, we can definitely say that Intel’s G7 GPU is very good.
