Intel introduced the Intel Stratix 10 NX Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). According to the manufacturer, these are his first FPGA accelerators optimized for artificial intelligence tasks. Allegedly, they allow you to increase throughput and reduce delays in calculations using artificial intelligence algorithms.
As examples of tasks that can benefit from FPGA acceleration, the manufacturer cites resource-intensive applications for processing text or speech in natural language, or for detecting fraudulent actions. The manufacturer does not provide the number of gates available for programming, but it is known that the Intel Stratix 10 NX FPGA configuration includes HBM memory and high-speed 10/25/100 GbE network ports, as well as new arithmetic AI Tensor Blocks optimized for artificial intelligence. A feature of these blocks is the arrays of low-bit multipliers (INT4 and INT8), which are usually used in calculating artificial intelligence models.
