Today, a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordination Council under the Government of the Russian Federation on combating the spread of a new coronavirus infection took place, at which it was decided to create a monitoring system for citizens who were in contact with infected coronavirus until March 27.
A document was posted on the government website of the Russian Federation, which stated in particular the following:
The Ministry of Communications of Russia to organize the creation of a tracking system for citizens in contact with patients with a new coronavirus infection, based on information from mobile operators about the geolocation of a cell phone for a specific person, providing for the possibility of notifying citizens about the fact of contact with a person with a new coronavirus infection by sending appropriate messages in order to informing them about the need for self-isolation, as well as sending this information to the operational headquarters of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The deadline is March 27, 2020.
The Ministry of Communications was instructed to notify those in contact with the infected coronavirus “by sending appropriate messages in order to inform them of the need for self-isolation.” The information received will also be sent to operational headquarters in the country.
The number of cases of coronavirus infection in Russia has increased to 438 (+71 per day), as reported today by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
