During the announcement of the smartwatch Huawei Watch GT 2, one of the biggest disappointments was their lack of NFC support. The absence of such a key function for smart watches was all the more surprising, given the presence of a built-in module in the device.
Now, Huawei has released a firmware update for the Huawei Watch GT 2 smartwatch, which fixes this glaring flaw. Firmware number 1.0.2.28 activates the NFC module.
Users from the United States, Germany, and the Philippines have already reported receiving such an update. It is expected that in the near future the update will be available in other regions.
However, it is worth noting that NFC works in watches very limited. The company has implemented support for the proprietary OneHop function for easy connection to a smartphone. But contactless payment is not yet supported.
