Analysts say Huawei’s HiSilicon chip manufacturing subsidiary boosted processor shipments this year. As a result, over the year, more than 70% of all Huawei smartphones will be equipped with Kirin single-chip systems.
Moreover, the decrease in the share of single-chip Qualcomm systems will be observed both in premium-class smartphones, as well as in entry-level and mid-range models.
According to other information, shipments of single-chip HiSilicon Kirin systems in China this year will make up about 20% of the total supply of SoC for smartphones.
In September, HiSilicon introduced the Kirin 990 5G, its first SoC with a neural processor (NPU) and 5G modem. It is expected that the company will continue to release 5G SoC with integrated neural processors, which will help consolidate the position of this family in the market of single-chip systems for smartphones.
