Headphones sales last quarter grew by 25% in quantitative terms and by 65% in monetary terms

The global headphones market is growing rapidly. In any case, such a conclusion allows us to draw a report for the fourth quarter of 2019, prepared by specialists from Futuresource Consulting.

According to analysts, compared with the same period in 2018, headphone sales in quantitative terms increased by more than 25% and reached 162.7 million units. Moreover, more than a third of the sold headphones belong to the category of “truly wireless”, that is, their left and right headphones are also not connected by wire. Such models are more expensive, which led to a market growth in money terms of 65%. In total, $ 14.1 billion was spent on headphones during the quarter in the world.

The market leader, both in kind and in money terms, is Apple with AirPods Pro headphones. In physical terms, it is followed by Sony and JBL, and in monetary terms – Sony and Beats.
