The decision to cancel the event was made on February 28 by the Swiss Federal Council, which decided that until March 15, 2020, events with the participation of more than 1000 people in connection with the outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19 should not be held.
The exhibition organizers agree with this decision.
“We regret this situation, but the health of all participants is our top priority. These are force majeure circumstances and huge losses for manufacturers who have invested heavily in their presence in Geneva. However, we are convinced that they will understand this decision ”, – quotes the source of the word Maurice Turrettini (Maurice Turrettini), who heads the organization conducting the exhibition.
By the time the ban on the exhibition was announced, the construction of stands was almost completed. A week ago, during press conferences dedicated to the exhibition, there was not even any suggestion that such a drastic measure would be taken. The situation has changed with the advent of the first confirmed cases of the disease in Switzerland.
The financial implications for everyone involved in the event are significant. They will be appreciated in the coming weeks. Funds for car dealership tickets will be refunded.
