Fibocom L610 IoT module supports LTE Cat.1 and 10 Mbps

Fibocom, calling itself “the leading provider of solutions for embedded wireless cellular modules for the Internet of things”, introduced the L610 module at the Embedded World 2020 event.

The basis of the Fibocom L610 module is UNISOC 8910DM – the world’s first chipset with support for LTE Cat.1bis. The module supports speeds up to 10 Mbps, FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE and GSM, as well as short-distance communications via Wi-Fi SCAN and Bluetooth. Equipment Fibocom L610 includes interfaces UART, SPI, I2C and USB. In addition, you can highlight the presence of a codec and support for VoLTE.

According to the manufacturer, in comparison with NB-IoT and 2G modules, Cat.1 modules have advantages in network coverage, speed and latency. Fibocom L610 applications include smart meters, asset tracking, public intercom networks, and other IoT solutions for industry and retail.
