E3 this year will not even be online, but gamers will be offered an alternative

Now officially: E3 2020 this year will not take place even in the online format. The organizers of the exhibition confirmed to PC Gamer reporters that in 2020, for the first time in 25 years, gamers will lose their annual show of new products.

However, players will not be left without a holiday. The editors of the IGN portal have planned the Summer of Gaming online event, during which developers and publishers will hold their own conferences – large companies like SEGA, Square Enix, 2K Games and others have already confirmed their desire to participate in this format.

In the meantime, the ESA will focus on E3 2021. The organizers promise that next year the show is waiting for some major reboot of the usual format for gamers. It was planned already in 2020, but the coronavirus seriously shook the ideas of the authors of E3 – and, perhaps, put an end to the existence of such a show in principle. Will developers and publishers want to return to the ESA – we will find out only next year.
