Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD will supply electric vehicle batteries to the American automaker Ford Motor. This is evidenced by a document published today on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China.
Ford, a Chinese company, together with Changan Automobile, are requesting approval from the ministry to create an electric vehicle with a hybrid powerplant and mains charging, which will use BYD batteries.
This is the first BYD deal with the world’s largest automaker, which became known. Earlier, the company expressed its readiness to supply other car manufacturers with not only batteries, but also power control units.
