Known for its low-cost motherboards, Biostar is releasing new low-cost SSDs. They have capacities of 256 or 512 GB and use 4 PCIe 3.0 lines. New items are made in the form factor M.2 2280.
The Biostar M700 NVMe drives are based on the Silicon Motion SM2263XT controller without a DRAM buffer and a 3D NAND TLC memory chip. The older model provides sequential read and write speeds of up to 2000 and 1600 MB / s, and in the case of a 256-gigabyte solution, these figures are 1850 and 950 MB / s, respectively. Other characteristics of SSD, unfortunately, are not disclosed.
As for the estimated prices of the Biostar M700, the 512 GB drive will cost about $ 60, and the 256 GB model will be available for $ 40.
