With the new iPadOS, the situation will be slightly different.
For modern smartphones with Android in most cases, the norm is the situation when the device receives two updates of the OS version, that is, in this issue the device is supported for about two years.

Xiaomi, for example, releases new versions of MIUI even for very old devices, although in these cases the shell is based on older versions of Android.

And, of course, there is one undisputed market leader in the issue of such support – Apple. The company supports its smartphones for many years without any reservations.

For example, the current iOS 13 is available on the iPhone 6s / 6s Plus, released in 2015, as well as on the iPhone SE, which debuted in 2016. And according to fresh rumors, these same models will also receive iOS 14!

A source says that in the case of the iPhone, a new version of the operating system will be released for the same generation of devices as iOS 13. True, there will be small changes in the list of supported tablets. More specifically, the new iPadOS will not be available for the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4.
