Apple Bought Voysis, an Irish Software Developer Improving Voice Assistants in Online Shopping Applications

Apple acquired the young Irish company Voysis, specializing in the development of artificial intelligence software. More specifically, Voysis experts have developed a platform for digital voice assistants, allowing them to better understand the natural language of people.

Voysis software helps digital assistants in online shopping applications better respond to user voice commands. This technology can narrow your search results by processing phrases for purchases such as “I need a new TV” and “My budget is $ 1,000.”

Apple did not confirm the fact of the purchase, limiting itself to the general wording that “from time to time it buys small technology companies.”

The Voysis system uses Wavenets, a method of creating computer speech more like human speech based on artificial intelligence. It was developed by Google DeepMind in 2016.
