Unexpected, but very pleasant news came at the very end of Sunday. According to a source citing the Chiphell resource, which correctly predicted a number of announcements of AMD video cards of past generations, the company is preparing a big announcement at CES 2020. This event, recall, will be held from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas.
In particular, AMD will present a line of top-end Radeon RX graphics cards with Navi GPUs on the second generation RDNA architecture. Most likely, the premiere will happen on paper – after the January announcement in a few months a full-fledged premiere will take place with all the technical details, but sales of new products will start a few months later. Tentatively – in the summer of 2020.

Nothing is said about the characteristics yet, but we can expect several top models built using the 7 nm ++ process technology, with hardware support for Ray Tracing technology, as well as memory options for both GDDR6 and HBM2. Surely an increase in productivity and energy efficiency will happen due to polishing the architecture, but for now, one can only guess how much the new Navi will become better than its predecessors (and better than competitors of Nvidia).
