AMD Ryzen 9 4900U flagship eight-core APU lit up in benchmark

Rumors that AMD is preparing another mobile eight-core APU – Ryzen 9 4900U – were confirmed by the UserBenchmark benchmark. At the same time, some characteristics of this hybrid processor are confirmed.

As you can see, the base frequency of the Ryzen 9 4900U was 1.8 GHz – the Ryzen 7 4800U also works at the same frequency. But the average frequency in Turbo mode is 2.35 GHz – not an impressive result, which clearly affected the overall performance: it could have been higher, although the result of single and dual core performance is still very good. According to rumors, the maximum frequency of the Ryzen 9 4900U will reach 4.3 GHz, that is, it will be 100 MHz higher than that of the Ryzen 7 4800U.

Laptops based on the previously announced APUs of the Ryzen 4000 line have just become available for order, and in the context of this it is not yet clear when it will be possible to order a production model on the Ryzen 9 4900U. But it is already known for certain that the model based on this hybrid processor will introduce Lenovo.
