Market research company Mercury Research has released a market report for x86-compatible processors in the fourth quarter of 2019. According to her, AMD has shown growth in all segments, not including processors for IoT and semi-custom solutions.
If the estimates of Mercury Research experts are correct, AMD managed to occupy 18.3% in the segment of desktop processors. This figure is 2.4 percentage points higher in annual terms. The last time the company managed to take such a share in the third quarter of 2014, that is, five years ago.
AMD occupies 4.5% in the server segment, which is 1.4 percentage points higher than in 2018. The last time AMD managed to take such a market share in x86-compatible server processors in the third quarter of 2013.
AMD’s share in the mobile processor segment is 16.2%. This indicator increased by 4.0 percentage points over the year. The last time the share of AMD in the segment of mobile processors was so large in the second quarter of 2013.
On average, AMD’s share in all segments is estimated at 15.5%. This is 3.2 percentage points more than in the fourth quarter of 2018.
