AMD and Nvidia push Intel on the market for PC GPUs

Analysts at Jon Peddie Research have evaluated the PC GPU market in the fourth quarter of last year. As it turned out, the supply of products for the reporting period in annual terms decreased by 1.3%, but in the quarter – increased by 3.4%.

Intel remains the market leader, but the company’s share fell from 72% at the end of 2018 to 63%. The share of Nvidia at the same time increased from 13% to 19%, while AMD showed an increase from 15% to 18%. Thus, Nvidia and AMD now occupy almost equal market shares. If we talk exclusively about discrete GPUs, then AMD occupies 27%, and Nvidia – 73%.

Discrete graphics in the last quarter were installed in 31.9% of all new PCs. In total, 93 million graphic processors were shipped in the last quarter, which is 1 million less than a year earlier.
