Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world, told Instagram that he will donate $ 10 billion to fight climate change through a new initiative called the Bezos Earth Fund.
Bezos promised to start issuing grants this summer, stimulating the efforts of scientists, activists, non-governmental organizations that create “a real opportunity to help preserve and protect the natural world.”
“Climate change is the biggest threat to our planet,” Bezos said. “I want to work with others to strengthen the well-known and explore new ways to combat the devastating effects of climate change on our common planet.”
According to Forbes, the state of Bezos is $ 129.9 billion. The new foundation is its largest charity event to date.
