Next-generation consoles will not have a strong impact on the company’s business.
The release of the highly anticipated next-generation game consoles will not have a significant impact on Nintendo’s business. This was told in response to a question from an investor by Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa.
In his opinion, the market, of course, will change with the release of new Sony and Microsoft consoles. However, the Sony PlayStation 5 with Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch are targeted at different audiences. Consequently, new market trends will not significantly affect Nintendo’s business.
Fans of Nintendo were not happy to know that the company is not going to release the heir to the Nintendo Switch console yet. During a Q & A with investors, Furukawa said that the Nintendo Switch is now in the middle of a life cycle.
The company introduced the Nintendo Switch in March 2017. The novelty has been extremely successful. Nintendo announced last week that Nintendo Switch’s global total sales were 52.48 million units, ahead of the PlayStation 4 in terms of sales.
